From humble beginnings, the legacy of N&S Mattai & Co. has grown into the premier ‘Food Market’ in Guyana- our callback to our beginnings in the Stabroek Market in Georgetown, as the oldest wholesaler and retailer of food products in Guyana.

Building on our legacy, Mattai’s, the Food Market emerged to not only meet local demand and continue our synonymity with freshly ground geera and mixed masalas, but to also introduce new items and recipes to the baskets of our customers- from different spices, seasonings, frozen foods, desserts, fresh local vegetables for that true Guyanese flavor. In an effort to expand our repertoire and offer a culinary trip around the world, we have included dhalls, beans, nuts, flours, pastes, pickles and snacks in our product range in both wholesale and retail quantities.
